# 10th dimension

## Welcome to the 10th Dimension

We live in a four-dimensional world1, and it’s pretty easy to grasp that. Up/down, left/right, forward/backward, all while moving through time.

In basic math classes, we also visualized shapes in one (a line), two (a plane), and three (a cube) dimensions as well. But what about the 5th dimension? (Cue Twilight Zone soundtrack)
From en.wikipedia.org:

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

How does one grasp what a fifth, sixth, or seventh dimension looks like? And what about the tenth dimension?

From www.boingboing.net:

Bowloftoast sez, “This is a short animation that takes the viewer through a progressive description of all (and all possible) dimensions, up to and including the 10th. It is an elegant introduction to the fundamentals of string theory and a mind-blowing toe-dip into the pool of the metaphysical.”
