The two short hikes we took today were nice. The first one was rather short, perhaps only 1.5 miles round trip, while the second was 3.0 miles round trip with 1000 feet of vertical. I took a short nap on the way back and tried to contune my nap in the tent to no avail. Instead I watched on as Brent, Trevor, Saul, and Leo gave some salsa to the red fire ants. The ants started digging under the salsa. Saul broke up some pieces of chips and spread them a short distance away from the salsa. The ants grabbed al the chips and took them ino their cave. They gave up on the salsa. We had rice, chicken, and peanut butter in a Thai dinner that Alec made. It was good, although a bit spicey. I just hope I don’t pay for it later on. No BM’s so far either. After dinner, we all sat around the camp fire and discuses what the plan is what we want to get from Canyonlands. The plan did change and we will be waking up at 6am to drive for 10 hours to Arizona. We might even get to see Death Valley on the way back. I think I picked a date for the prom. I’m going to think about is some more though.

Houston, no go for launch

Well, I got an answer back from my potential prom date, no go. But I’m not out for the count. While majorly disappointed and slightly depressed, I will be back…as soon as I figure out who I’m going to ask next.

In other news, some of my relatives flew out to Seattle on Sunday. Rehearsals continue for How to, although they are more like choreographed dance routines rather than play rehearsals. I picked up some new computer stuff on Wednesday. And tomorrow I fly out to California to go backpacking. I will not be able to update for about 15 days starting tomorrow, so that’s where I’ll be.

Sleepless in Seattle

I’ve been having trouble sleeping the last week. I’m not quite sure why, but I have been stressed out a little. In just about a week, I’ll be on my way to California and then TJ, Mexico for a 17 day combined trip. I’m going to bring my GPS with me and I’m going to email my coordinates back to the server. The server will then post an autolog about my position, how far I’ve travelled, and perhaps even a satellite picture of my position.

I finally worked up the nerve to ask the girl out to prom. She didn’t say yes, but she didn’t say no either. However, the important thing is that I did ask. I hope to have this concluded before I leave for Canyonlands, but if it’s not, that’s fine too.

I feel much better now. I should get lots of sleep tonight.
