I went back into the health center today because I was vomiting again (I basically cough so much/hard that I end up throwing up). They think that I might have had Pertussis, which the aforementioned regimen of Azithromycin would’ve taken care of.
New symptom now though! Clogging of the ears and sometimes a ringing in the left ear. Conclusion? Ear infection! Oh man, how lucky am I?
Another round of antibiotics, Amoxicillin this time. It should also help clear the rest of my lungs out – since they’re still sounding a bit weezy. In any event, I should starting feel significantly better within 48 hours.
Dude, how long have you been sick?!?!? Seriously… tell your immune system it needs to start picking up some slack.
I hope the antibiotics help!
@Audrey:
The weekend before finals, so since about the 3rd of May. I mostly blame stress.
And yes, we’ve had several longs talks about how this is unacceptable.
Thanks for the well wishes 🙂
holy crap! Dan’s allergic to the pertussis vaccine and apparently whooping cough in general is a big problem for him! You could have killed my boyfriend!
@Amanda:
The pertussis vaccine is only effective for a few years. It’s given to children since they are most at risk. [1] Thus, just about every adolescent and adult is susceptible to it.
