You look outside your metaphorical window and you see things happening to other people in other neighborhoods. You think, “That’ll never happen to me. That’ll never happen in my neighborhood.”
I guess there are some things you expect. People go off to college. People date. You expect these things and in time you expect that they will graduate, become engaged, get married, and have kids. These things should happen in time though, with due pacing, and in more or less that order.
Recently though, people have been accelerating the processes:
A friend from college just had a baby. Not graduated and not married (as far as I know and I’m also not saying that not being married is bad).
