James Kim, RIP

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 14 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

I really don’t have anything to add than to what’s already been said by other members of Internet community. I lot of the blogs I read issued an ABP days before the mainstream media caught on. The same blogs sung hallelujah when Kati (wife/mom) Penelope (4 years) and Sabine (7 months) were found. And now those blogs and even more cry together as the devastating news of James’ death carries across the web. It’s weird.

  1. I must be a cold hearted bastard but I fail to understand why people in this country choose to celebrate stupidity. The man lacked basic common sense, endangered his family directly as a result, and now gains some semblance of public notoriety that is being spun into the typical seasonal human interest story.

May god strike me dead if some cheeseball producer doesn’t make a TV movie out of this crap in the very near future.

There is so much more going on in the world that truly deserves the exposure and increased awareness this story has had.

Now, that is something that should make you all sad, not this celebration of ignorance.

Like I said, cold hearted bastard over here.

  2. I don’t think we’re celebrating here. On the contrary, we’re mourning. Based on what I’ve read, the choice he made was not ill conceived and was in the best interest of his family. In all honestly, I probably would have done the same thing. How do you get off saying “lacked basic common sense, endangered his family directly as a result”?

Keeping in mind that I don’t watch a lot of TV (it’s luck to even get turned on these days). I get most of my news from other bloggers, the KOMO RSS Local News feed, and the CBS hourly news when I’m in my car. I haven’t heard much since his body was found.
