Dateline Rome, Italy.
A really long day today with lots of traveling.
Took a train from Florence to Rome (1.5 hours)
Rented a car and then drove to Agnone (3 hours)
Investigated Agnone, where my mothers, mothers, father was born.
Learned they make world famous bells in Agnone
Drove back to Rome (3 hours)
Found hotel (1 hour)
We fly out to Switzerland tomorrow afternoon.

My mother’s family also came from Agnone. I am thinking of going there next year. What was it like? Anything to do? Any hotels? Thanks, Ron.
With the caveat that I only spend a day there, I found it quiet interesting. Most of this interest came from the fact that no, literally no one, spoke any English. Not even a phrase. I thought that was fantastic because for the first time on our trip, I felt I was truly exploring and discovering.
I can’t speak for the hotel situation because we didn’t stay over night.
However, as I noted in my post, they do make the world famous Marinelli bells and they have a pretty cool tour. With over a thousand (yes, over a millennia) of experience, they have a very unique and amazing craft that is worth checking out.
In short, I want to and will be going back at some point.
Here’s a panorama I took there: http://flickr.com/photos/afdn/225614524/in/set-72157594254385692/
