Free SkypeOut For 2006

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 16 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

I’m probably preaching to the choir here as I’ve already read this on about a half-dozen feeds that I receive, but I’m going to go ahead and repeat it for those who don’t get out as much (at least in the blogosphere world).

Skype has offered free SkypeOut for calls originating from a US/Canadian-based computer and going to a US/Canadian-based landline/cell. It usually costs 2 cents/minute, but for the rest of 2006 (an astounding 230 days or so), it’s free (as in beer).

So go grab Skype (http://www.skype.com), then start making calls. Perhaps this would be the time to learn the Skype API and create some auto callers for some of my favorite congressmen (basically everybody on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee).
