Hang Over

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 17 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

Know what really sucks? Having a hang over. What sucks even more is having your first hang over and feeling like you want to die.

We (Ben and I) went to a Beach Party at Dave’s (he’s a teleskiier). Party lasted until about 3am MDT (which really means 2am MST) and then we went home. Now, I’m not a party animal or anything. I know my limit and I stick to it. I also don’t make it a point to party every weekend. In fact, this was my fourth party of the entire school year; so figure once every couple months. I’ve also never had a problem with hangovers, until this morning. Woke up around 7am (after three hours of sleep) because it was so light out and had a bit headache. Took my contacts out (which I should’ve done last night and went back to bed). The rest of the morning was a combination of feeling like I wanted to vomit and restlessness. I took a shower bath (I just sat in the tub with the shower on) and went back to bed. Then I Googled “hangover” (yes, I’m that nerdy) and found a site with some good information:

In general, an alcohol hangover involves two or more the following symptoms: headache, nausea, diarrhea, lack of appetite, shakiness, feeling tired and an overall feeling of being unwell. Simply put, it feels like the “flu”.

‘Flu’ pretty much describes it and I really, really hate having to feel like I’m going to throw up. It’s my all-time least favorite thing, even worse than the dentist. So at least I wasn’t dying. I drank some water and tried to eat a bagel, but had no luck (you try eating something when you feel like vomiting).

Around 12:30, I drew a bath and just sat in the tub for a literally two hour (sort of napping on and off). When I finally awoke, I was feeling much better (see a bit of a headache, but that’s more likely from dehydration). Now I have to get my homework done.

I suppose this begs the question, why I am writting about this. It was an interesting (despite feeling like crap) experience that I thought I might share.
