The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 17 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

First, I wanted to be a lawyer. Then I wanted to be a computer programmer. I’m now on a path to become an electrical engineer. I want to go work at a company like Boeing or Lockheed Martin on the next generation space shuttle: the Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV). But there’s another job that I’m keeping my eye on: corporate communications.

Steve Rubel says that Microsoft is putting out the call for a second Scoble:

Microsoft has put out the call for someone that sure sounds Scoblesque. Can there be twin Scobles? Or maybe this means Robert is moving up? The job description says “We are looking for another unique individual who has the passion, the knowledge, and the skills to help us tell the Microsoft story online using video. We are looking for a rare bird for a new kind of evangelism role at Microsoft… Experience with blogging, wikis, and social software technologies a plus.” Blink twice and you’re reading the corporate communications job description of the future. I definitely have the passion, knowledge, and skills. I took 4 trimesters worth of film in high school and I just completed a filming project for Filmerica this summer. So even after not taking film for over an entire year, I still got the goods. I developed my own blogging system for many years before switching over to WordPress last spring.

I’ll have to keep my eye on this.
