Exam Music

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 18 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

Before I go and take an exam, I traditionally listen to some music from my iPod for about 15 minutes prior to the exam. The first semester of last year, I listened to the LP version of In a Silent Way by Miles Davis, coming in at 19:51 (yes, just that one single track).

For the second semester of last year, I switched it up a bit and picked four U2 songs: Vertigo, The Hands That Built America {From Gangs of New York}, One, and Miracle Drug; all in that order. This topped out at 16.7 minutes.

I have a Physics exam today and I decided to pick my songs for this semester. On the docket is: Children’s Story by Jerry Goldsmith from Star Trek: Insurrection, 19-2000 (Soul Child Remix) by Gorillaz from G Sides, Caring is Creepy by The Shins from Oh, Inverted World, Curbside Prophet by Jason Mraz from Waiting for My Rocket to Come, and the stereo version of Picture Book by The Kinks from The Village Green Preservation Society; again, all in that order topping out at a mere 14.8 minutes.

I picked a somewhat eclectic group of songs, so I’ll have to see how this works. Wish me luck!
