Blog Meetup

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 18 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

Every four weeks on the third Wednesday of every month, geeks from all around Seattle flock to Ralph’s Grocery and Deli for a few hours of social interaction. I think Phillip Torrone is the coolest guy ever. He brought some very neat gadgets including an old authentic Western Electric rotary phone that had been modified into a GSM cell phone. Absolutely ridiculous, but also absolutely cool. Phillip is also the Assoc. Editor of Make Magazine that, although somewhat expensive ($14.95 an issue, but published quarterly), looks to be very worthwhile to read. Phillip brought a few copies of the latest volume and in thumbing through it, seemed like something I would actually read cover to cover, a rarity for me. I’ll go on and order a year’s subscription when I go back to Colorado.

Back to the event though. It was very cool and I will have pictures posted soon.
