Call me a flip flopper I guess. I talked with Tad Schult, Mark Schult’s older brother. Tad works at a camera store and talked to me about the differences between the Rebel XT and the D70. So I did some more research and I think I’m going to go with the D70 now. The D70 doesn’t have as many pixels, but it does use a CCD (the Rebel XT uses CMOS) that, for my purposes, is a superior choice. The D70 does weigh more, but the lense is of higher quality (Tad said that the Rebel XT uses plastic instead of glass, ouch). The battery life on the D70 is also a LOT better (up to 2000 pictures compared with the Rebel XT’s 600), that is an important factor.
