Why Volunteering Has It’s Perks

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 15 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

I volunteered to work at the soda shack so I could get a free tshirt. It was actually pretty cool and I learned some interesting things. For example, Pepsi is a 5:1 ratio of carbonated water to syrup while Coke is slightly less (somewhere around 5:0.85). Anyways, my shirt says “Volunteer” on it and even though I didn’t “volunteer” at the concert, CSC let me in anyways. I didn’t even have to do anything. I was actually justing looking through the window on the door and one of the CSC guys told me to go on in, so I did. This of course raises the question about what the left hand really knows about the right hand. In theory, I could probably don a CSC shirt and walk right in to a Bronco’s game unquestioned.

The concert was interesting, not because of the music, but because of the experience. Especially the “mosh pit“. Ben, Sarah, and I left early (~two minutes ago), which was perfectly fine with me. Going to Casino Night.
