Healthier Than a Horse

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 18 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

The Student Development Center is putting on a Wellness Day today. I stopped by, had nice little chair massage and went and did all the tests. I knew I was in good shape, but I didn’t know I was this good:

  • 13.2% Body Fat – This puts me right on the line between Low and Average
  • 4.26 Liters Forced Expiratory Volume (amount of air exhaled in one second) – 99% of predicted
  • 5.35 Liters Forced Vital Capacity (lung capacity) – 107% of predicted
  • Phoria:
    • Me: 5.50 Exo – Pass
    • Normal: <4 Eco, < 6 Exo, < 1.0 Hyper
  • Fusional Ranges:
    • 21.12 BI Break (Normal: >= 10 diopters) – Pass
    • 18.37 BI Recovery (Normal: >= 6 diopters) – Pass
    • 40.41 BO Limit Without Break (Normal: >= 20 diopters) – Pass
    • 40.41 BO Recovery (Normal: >= 16 diopters) – Pass
  • Accommodative Facility
    • Right Correct: 100.00% (Normal: >= 80%) – Pass
    • Left Correct: 97.92% (Normal: >= 80%) – Pass
    • Average Cycles/Minute: 22.36 (Normal: 12 Cycles/Minute) – Pass
  • Blood Pressure: 100/54

I do have over-pronated (flat) feet, my lower back/hips have an anterior roll (they’re rolled to far forward), and my chest muscles overpower my back muscles. The two first things I listed are probably contributing to the muscles in my lower back being tight all the time, the Doc said, which they are. He recomended getting a set of insoles at Target or something to help with that. I’ll try it. But other then that, I’m in really really good, shape, especially for being a college student.
