As the school year ends and the big college decision looms overhead, I’m still working on making Andrew Ferguson dot NET a better place. This, of course, may beg the question of why I would put so much time and effort into such a project. The answer simply being that AFdN is my hobby and I enjoy working on it, even if I’m the only one to reap the benefits. Hopefully, everybody who visits the site finds some bit of useful knowledge to take with them. In any event, version 8.0 of AFdN is officiall under way! The site will again be programed in PHP with a mySQL backend, however, it will be designed to run both on Apache2 and IIS6. Further enhancements include streaming the Windows Media Video’s with true WMP9 Streaming technology. This should allow all users, irregardless of internet connection, to access the videos. This should also fix the issue with Linux users as well. I also should have my SharePoint portal up soon. All these changes primarly stem from the upgrade to Windows Server 2003.
In other news, the auction at church went over pretty well. Our group of six guys raised over $2,500, a pretty good chunk considering the auction netted somewhere around $100,000. I’ll see what kind of number I can find during the week. This upcoming weekend, I’ll be working at my school auction. I’ll also be watching The Passion.
