XKCD really needs to get out of my head. Two notes on this comic: A) is validates the long standing rule on minimum dating age (aka standard creepiness rule) of [(your_age/2) + 7], which I first heard on the Bryan Suits show when he was still at KIRO, circa 2001-ish. 21) this is a comic of hope. After having been to a half-dozen weddings this past summer, one can’t help but to feel a little out of place. I’m certainly not in any rush, but at the same time, I don’t have a plan either.
1 Yes, I know I used A and then 2….it’s funnier that way. Trust me.
Jason and Amy’s wedding was the last wedding I was on the hook for filming for this summer and I had a pretty good system down by now. In terms of circle-of-friends, it was very similar to the Gamble Wedding. Interestingly enough, I only made it into about 1.13% of the photos this time (that’s about 6 photos from what I can tell). However, I would say that the quality of the photos that I am in easily makeup for the lack of ones that I am not in: My bad-ass pose?
Part of the Gang: Andrew Ferguson, Peter Walchenbach, Jeff Staples, Ben Andersen

Setting up (standing next to the tripod…bending over)
Interestingly enough, the main photographer of the wedding, Laurence Kim, has a blog and blogged about Jason and Amy’s wedding:
In short, Karl and Bethany’s wedding was pretty kick ass. Why? They had an outside wedding with impeccable weather, they had Alaskan Amber, and they had dancing. Jeff Aitken has the most wicked Michael Jackson moves. He’s really quite amazing. Mark Mohrlang is also quite a great dancer.

Since I posted photos from the Gamble wedding, I figure I better post photos that I have from the other weddings. Here are some photos from Audrey and Griffin’s wedding, which was all the way back in June.
Yea, you don’t need to tell me the summer went fast. I have first hand experience.
I somehow managed to make it into about 9% of their photos. Here are some of the goods ones:
Not only is this just a completely badass photo, but my sunglasses also had a starring role on Griffin’s head:
Jesse and Kendal were married just over about two and half weeks ago. It was an awesome wedding with many memories. For those that missed it, there is a DVD of it that Kendall Snow Gamble now has. It’s pretty good if you ask me, but I may be biased.
The best way I think to document this wedding is through photos because, let’s face it, I love to be lazy when it comes to writing and picture books are always fun. And as it turns out, I made it into 2.63% of the photos taken at wedding/reception.
Here are the random pictures that just happen to include me in them:
Then there are a couple of me in the walkway with Peter Walchenbach and company:
Next, we have two pictures with the Bride and/not1 Groom:
…you’ll have to forgive the foolish man in the background.
Finally, we have my favorite part. Photos from the Cha Cha Slide. The Cha Cha Slide is one of my favorite dance activities of all time despite the fact that I’ve only done it three times (High School Graduation night three years ago and change, Audrey and Griffin’s wedding a couple months ago, and Kendall and Jesse’s wedding).
I think the last photo is pretty rockin’. There are actually a bunch more photos online (1066 to be precise) that you can get access to if you know the super secret password. If you don’t know it, I will refer you to Kendall or Jesse for access.
By the way, why the frick are wedding photos so expensive to buy? A 4×5 proof costs $11! Didn’t the photographer already get paid for his or time? When I get married, I’m going to require that the photographer release all the photos of wedding under Creative Commons.
There’s also this video which really makes no sense out of context in which is was recorded and the people it includes, but I needed a place to put it, so here it is:
1I’ve been using this term for some time, although I don’t think anyone else uses it. Example: I’m going to have lunch with Alice and/not Bob. This would be equivalent to: I’m going to have lunch with Alice or Alice and Bob but not Bob without Alice.
Technically, I don’t think this isn’t part of Wedding Fest 2007 since I didn’t actually attend. But it’s another person whom I know that is now married.
So how does this all work out? Well, getting on a 8:30 am flight to Seattle last Sunday morning was the easy part. Then the real fun began. I really don’t care to get into the details because A) they don’t matter to people who aren’t involved; and, B) it would probably be appropriate to keep them under wraps (at least until sufficient time has passed that people no longer care about/read this site).
What I can/will say is that I’m back at Boeing and started on Friday. I spent most of the day reading hard copies of material related to my project because my computer access hadn’t been restored yet.
I was supposed to go to Brent’s wedding today and I did, just at the wrong time. So pretty much completely botched that one. I did catch him before they left for the reception.
A fantastic wedding for a fantastic bride and groom. Audrey and Griffin were married yesterday at The Pines at Genesse and I don’t think the weather could have been more perfect.
Audrey and Griffin are very fortunate to have great parents and great friends; and now each other for all of time…a match made in heaven.
On somewhat, but not entirely, separate note: Audrey and Griffin’s wedding marks the start of what will probably be several dozen weddings of people my age over the next decade or so. It’s
I have a short trip to Colorado for…wait for it…my first wedding (and a graduation party).
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this summer promises to be chock full of weddings. Not one, not two, not even three or four. Keep counting: Five? Six? Let’s try seven.
Seven weddings this summer all starting in just about 36 hours.
I know it sounds like a lot, and it is (I guess). But I know everyone getting married and wouldn’t miss their weddings even if a very large sum of money was presented to me.
