I’m not much of a history buff. There is one exception to this: The Cold War. For whatever reason, I love everything about the Cold War. Granted, I didn’t really have live in it (although I was born during the tail end) and thus I don’t understand the fear of living in a world where you might wake up the next day to a nuclear holocaust. I still find it fascinating.

I like looking at pictures taken that show the abandoned cites and towns. It’s almost like a time machine. The city frozen in a perpetual state of emptiness. Nothing changing, just aging. Sleeping giants.

I want to take a trip to Russia and spend time absorbing this and recording this. I want to take photos like this.

I have not been to Russia yet. However, I’m planning some time off and visiting former Soviet Bloc countries on one thing I’m considering doing.
