[...] Locking people into your system may be a good thing. That is, until people jump ship and go to your competitors product. Then what? In a world where everything must, and I do mean MUST, communicate with EVERYTHING else, proprietary formats are doomed to failure. Case in point: Betamax, ATRAC3, UMD. Ok, actually that's more than one and they are all Sony technologies (which I currently ban). But I think the point is still valid. [...]

I attended a meeting for all “Jackson hole mountain resort” employees last Wednesday, during which, a motivational speaker talked to us for about an hour and one of the stories she told was of a gentleman who became frustrated with starbucks, his 16 year old daughter created a web sight which said something simple along the lines of “if you have ever had a bad experience with “SB” call this 1-900 number and tell us about it, it will cost you a dollar, but it will be worth it” hundreds of people had called the number by the next morning, enough that they were able to but a full page add in the Seattle PI (it think that was the paper they chose” the add said the same thing as the web site, by the end of the week, thousands had called the number, enough that they were able to take out a full page add in the US weekly which once again said the same thing. By the end of the week some 400,000 people had called the number, the man who started it was on multiple talk shows and interviews, he was then silenced by SB after settling for an undisclosed amount of money. He is now retired, and lives in one of his many homes in Hawaii.

I am not sure how accurate that story was however I believe that it is at least close to the truth, maybe you can do a similar thing, my only requirement is 10% of the proceeds. Good luck.
